Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of veridraw.io. They are written to be read, not to be survived — where something is a genuine limitation of the product, it says so rather than hiding in a clause.

1. The short version

You paste the entries, we pick the winner with a method anyone can recheck, and we publish a certificate proving it. In exchange: run legitimate giveaways, follow the rules of the platform your giveaway lives on, and accept that once a draw is revealed the result stands. Everything below expands on that.

2. What the service does

Veridraw is a web app for running giveaway draws. You import entries by pasting a comment thread or a CSV, choose how entries are filtered (duplicates, empty or spam-like comments, a minimum number of tagged friends), and run a draw that is animated on a stage you can screen-record. Every completed draw gets a public certificate page that recomputes the result in the visitor’s own browser.

What the service deliberately does not do: it does not fetch, scrape or auto-import comments from any platform, and it cannot check whether someone follows, subscribes to or likes an account — the platforms do not expose that, so we never claim to have verified it. We verify only what is present in the text you import: duplicates, and mentions or tags inside comments.

3. How fairness works

The draw uses a commit-reveal scheme bound to public randomness. In order:

  • Your qualified entries are frozen in a fixed order and hashed. That hash is the entry list’s fingerprint — change one entry and it changes.
  • We generate a secret server seed and publish only its hash before the draw. That is our commitment: we cannot change the seed afterwards without the hash no longer matching.
  • The draw is bound to a future round of the public drand randomness beacon. Its value does not exist yet when we commit, so nobody — including us — can know or steer the outcome at commit time.
  • At reveal, the winner index is computed from the server seed, the beacon value and the entries hash together, and the server seed is published. The animation only displays a result that was already decided; it never picks the winner.

The certificate page shows every one of those values and re-runs the arithmetic in your browser. You can also fetch the beacon round from drand yourself and confirm it independently.

What this does and doesn't prove

The proof shows that the winner follows deterministically from the frozen entry list, our committed seed and a public random value that nobody could predict. It does not and cannot prove that the entry list you pasted is a complete or faithful copy of your comment thread — that part is on you, which is exactly why the pool is published on the certificate for your audience to see.

4. Revealed draws are final

Once you reveal a draw, its result is permanent. We will not re-run, reroll, edit or quietly replace a revealed result, and there is no administrative override — a result that could be changed on request would make every certificate worthless.

If a winner turns out to be ineligible, the honest route is built in: you can record a disqualification with a reason, and the next ranked backup is promoted automatically. The certificate then shows the whole chain — the original winner, the reason you gave, and who was promoted. Nothing is hidden, and the original mathematical proof stays intact and re-checkable.

Before revealing, nothing is committed to your audience yet: you may abandon a commitment, fix your entry pool and start again. That costs you nothing.

5. Your account

You need an account to run draws. You must be at least 16, give accurate information, and keep your sign-in secure — activity under your account is treated as yours. Accounts are for one person or one organisation; don’t resell access.

6. Plans, limits and payment

The free plan is a real plan, not a crippled trial: it includes 1 draw per month with up to 200 comments and 1 winner, all draw themes at full quality, a public certificate, and the last 3 draws in your history. Free draws carry a “verified by Veridraw” watermark and may show a sponsor moment during the build-up. Paid plans raise the limits and remove both. Current numbers are on the pricing page, and limits are enforced on our servers, not just in the interface.

Paid plans are annual and are not yet on sale. When they launch, payment will be processed by Stripe and by subscribing you will authorise the annual charge and its renewal; you will be able to cancel renewal at any time from your billing portal, keeping access to the end of the paid period. If you are an EU consumer you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal, which for a digital service you start using immediately may be reduced in line with the law; we will state the exact terms at checkout before you pay.

We may change prices for future billing periods with reasonable notice. A price you have already paid does not change mid-period.

7. Acceptable use

Don’t use Veridraw to:

  • run a fake, rigged or fictitious giveaway, or present a draw as verified when the entry list is fabricated;
  • run anything that is a lottery, betting or gambling activity requiring a licence, or that requires payment to enter;
  • import personal data you have no right to use, or entries obtained by scraping in breach of a platform’s terms;
  • publish content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, or that exposes private information about a person;
  • attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service, evade plan limits, or automate access in ways that degrade it for others;
  • misrepresent Veridraw — for example implying we endorse your giveaway, or that we verified something we do not verify (such as follows or subscriptions).

We may suspend or remove content and accounts that break these rules. Where a published certificate is involved we will say what was removed rather than silently rewriting the record.

8. Giveaway compliance is yours

You are the promoter of your giveaway. You are responsible for its rules, eligibility, prizes, taxes, any required disclosures, and for complying with consumer and promotion law in the countries you target — and for the rules of the platform you run it on. Veridraw is a tool that draws a winner and proves the draw; it is not your legal adviser and does not review your promotion.

Each platform sets its own promotion rules and enforces them independently of us. Read the relevant one before you post:

Common requirements across all three: state your own full rules, don’t suggest the platform sponsors you, and don’t ask entrants to tag people who are not genuinely relevant. Nothing in a Veridraw certificate replaces those obligations.

9. Content and ownership

You keep ownership of what you bring in — your giveaway details and the comment text you import. You grant us the limited licence needed to host it, process it into entries, run the draw, and publish the certificate and any share assets you generate. We own the software, the site, the brand and the stage designs; using the product does not transfer any of that to you.

The verification wording and watermark on a free draw stay as they are — removing or obscuring them is not permitted on the free plan. Paid plans replace the watermark with a verification seal, and Agency may switch the seal off or use its own logo.

10. Public pages

Running a draw creates a public certificate page and, if you claim a handle, a public creator profile. That is the product working as intended — the certificate is what makes the result checkable. See the Privacy Policy for exactly which fields are public. Don’t publish someone else’s personal data through these pages beyond the usernames a giveaway naturally involves.

11. Availability

The service is provided as-is and as-available. We aim for it to be up and correct, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability, and we may change, add or remove features. Where a change would break something you depend on, we will give notice where we reasonably can.

The draw path depends on the public drand beacon. If the beacon is unreachable at the moment you draw, the draw waits rather than falling back to a weaker source of randomness — correctness comes before convenience.

12. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost goodwill, or the cost of prizes, and our total liability for any claim is capped at what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose (or, if you are on the free plan, at €0 — the free plan carries no fee and no warranty). Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for our own fraud, intent or gross negligence, and if you are a consumer your statutory rights are unaffected.

You are responsible for the giveaway itself — including awarding the prize. We draw and prove the winner; we do not hold, insure or deliver prizes, and we are not a party to your promotion.

13. Ending the agreement

You may stop using the service at any time and ask us to close your account (see the Privacy Policy for what deletion removes — including that deleting a draw takes its certificate offline). We may suspend or close an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, or where we must for legal reasons; where it is not urgent we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.

14. Law and changes

These terms are governed by the law of Lithuania, and the courts of Lithuania have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the EU, you keep the protection of your own country’s mandatory consumer law and may bring proceedings where you live.

We will update this page when the service changes, and change the date in the masthead. Material changes affecting account holders will be sent by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version.
